Lot 2B: Akagera Coffee Project, Lot 1 Anaerobic
This coffee comes from one of the youngest coffee plantations in the country, only planted in the Byumba region in 2010. Our coffee is grown at altitudes of 1650m- 2,150m. It is 100% Arabica coffee, with a cupping score ranging from 85% to 92%. The farms and coffee washing stations are placed well in the mountainous region sarounded with forest at Byumba hills. We work with the local farmers to support the growth of coffee and the source of best quality coffees for our customers. We do provide second payment to the farmers which is known as bonus on the extra profit made. We believe education is the key for future development and financial transformation, not only for the farmers in the fields and the workers in the coffee washing stations, but also for their children. That’s why we invest 30% on net income by impacting our beloved farmers in the day care (nursery) schools which serve as a place where farmers leave their kids while they are harvesting or doing other routine work.
